Looking down the Tyne this drawing features three of the seven bridges that connect Newcastle upon Tyne with Gateshead: the Tyne Bridge, the Gateshead Millenium Bridge and the Swing Bridge. The Sage Gateshead music centre, home to the Royal Northern Sinfonia, is in the background.
I work from sketches that I have made, refining them by focussing on patterns in the landscape. I use a fine line pen to finish my drawings. My sketchbook accompanies me on my travels and I enjoy capturing the architecture and surroundings of different cities.
