🎨 How I Made It: This print takes inspiration from a Buddleja plant we have in our front garden. Over the course of several weeks in my Scottish studio, I sketched out various designs for the print before tracing the design onto a piece of lino. I used my A5-sized printing press to build up the different colours on the Japanese printing paper, carving into the lino between each layer (once you've carved a layer, there's no turning back), before adding finishing touches by hand with leaf-shaped lino pieces, and then a paint brush. My greetings cards are based on a digital scan of the final print, which a UK-based printing company then produce for me in small batches on FSC-certified recycled card stock, each of which I then fold by hand at home.
