How I design my prints:
"I work from sketches and photographs of iconic landscapes and city scapes. Based in my East Lothian studio I map out my drawings in pencil. This process allows me to capture the unique shapes and patterns that make up a landscape whilst deciding on the perfect size for my finished drawing. Once I am happy with the design I draw it out first in pencil and then with fine liner onto Bristol board. The bright white finish of the board is a perfect backdrop for the intense black of my fine liner. I have my prints professionally printed to ensure consistency in the finish. My favourite part of this process is removing the pencil lines from the finished piece to reveal the delicate black lines of the drawing."
